Main Door – Prime importance in Vastu Shastra
According to the Vastu, Main door or Entrance of home, office, Industries or plot has been accorded prime importance as it lets in or keeps out the vital life-giving force that promotes health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and good luck.
Urja (energy) enters in the house through doors and windows. However, the Main Door (front door) of your house is where the major part of energy enters and therefore this door plays an important role in determining the flow of vibrations experienced by the household. The main door is of great significance in vastu shastra as the entrance is considered to be the opening of a home (apartment or villa). The main door is a door of opportunities, hence it should be attractive, inviting and well organized. Garage door or back door are not considered as the main door.
It is auspicious to have a main entrance in the positive block according to vastu grid layout. Wherever the entrance of any home or building is in the positive location, the residents enjoy better health, increasing prosperity, and harmonious relations with others; but wherever houses are facing in negative zones, vastu correction/remedies are necessary to avoid negative impact. Correction of a door in the negative zone can be rectified with simple vastu remedies/corrections under the guidance of experienced vastu expert. Home with the best (good) entrance is always in demand by home buyers.
Following house has the main door in the east ( zone of victory). According to Vastu purush grid, it makes family enjoying a happier life, abundance in business or job & harmony all the time.
Key points for the Main door (Front entrance) as per Vastu Shastra:-
1. The door should open completely. It should not have any obstacle while opening a door. Some people keep a shoe rack or small cabinet behind the door which obstructs the door to open at 90 degrees. The cosmic flow of energy does not enter into the house completely. A short supply of a positive flow of energy will lead to limited opportunities and poor luck to the occupants. Make sure that your house opens at 90 degrees paving a way to the energy to circulate in without any hindrance.
2. This house should not have any cracking sounds from hinges on the opening of the main door. It is “Swar Vedha” (Sound obstacle) according to vastu. A sticky door may indicate that something is not working in your life or that you feel stuck or irritated by something.
3. The entrance area should be neat and clean and avoid having a dustbin, dried plants etc near the entrance.
4. Your main door should open in a clockwise direction. Door opening in anti-clock direction causes a delay in your personal and professional work, slow progress and difference of opinion among the family members. Install or Fix a three copper pyramid clockwise arrow on the door as a virtual correction. You can also conceal the same under the ply of the main door.

5. The main door should not have any cracks. As per Vastu Shastra (vasthu shastra) it is indeed very inauspicious to have the main door in unwelcoming condition.
6. The entrance door of the house should be larger than the other doors inside the house.
7. When one enters the house, there should not be a wall in front of the entrance. There should be a door that opens to the next room or open space immediately after entering into the room.
8. Any shadow e.g. shadow of a tree, building, Temple, religious place etc. should not fall on the main door.
9. The main door of the house should not be below ground level.
10. There should not be an underground tank, septic tank, or canal under the main entrance. There should not be any abandoned, wrecked buildings in front of the main entrance. Such situations are highly inauspicious.
11. There should not be three-door in the straight line looking from the main door
12. Inauspicious pictures should not be on the door.
13. Doors should have thresholds preferably made in the marble or wood.
14. Shoes should not be kept in front of the door, but be placed in the cabin near the entrance.
15. Anything connected with your religion, such as a yantra, an idol, copper swastika, across or scriptures from the Quran should be placed above the front door.
16. Display your nameplate (metal/wood/ceramic/acrylic) according to the entrance direction with the advice from Vastu expert.
17. It is auspicious to hang a vastu bell on the door handle from inside to attract money luck.
18. Arch design should be avoided on the main door.
19. Avoid the mirror facing the main door.
20. There should not be an overhead beam above the main door or entrance.
21. Location of the staircase outside the door may be positive or negative based on the directions of the same.
22. placing a good doormat and potted plants are sure ways to improve the entry zone of your house.
23. External vastu facing the door i.e. the location of the river, ponds, religious place, mountains, tall buildings, T junction, Dead end, swimming pools etc. also play an important role on Health, Wealth, Prosperity, Relationship, Peace, Harmony and Success to the occupants.
24. Main Door Shouldn't make any Crackling Sound if it does it needs to be Fixed Immediately.
25. Main Door Umbra Patti should not be Broken or Cracked Its needs to be fixed Immediately as its considered a Major Vastu Defect.
Energizing/Protecting the Main Door
(A) Place a Brass Pyramid or Copper Pyramids ( Copper Pyramids are 10x effective ) under the main door plate to refine the energy entering to the home. Defect on vastu entrance at south or Southwest can be cured by using lead pyramid or lead helix. Defect on vastu entrance at west or northwest can be corrected by installing. brass helix Defect on vastu at north or northeast is corrected by fixing crystal pyramid and zinc pyramid. Location of the door should be explained correctly. There is 9 zone in each direction. Say if it is north- north west has 3 part, north centre has 3 parts and north east occupies 3 part. Please inform exact location. Kitchen in the souht east is a excellent placement. 80% sun access in the morning is good.

Please refer to my earlier post. I had to book a studio flat facing west, the door is in the extreme corner towards north. Out side the studio flat in front of main door there is a wall at approx 5 feet with stairs behind it. The stairs are not visible from the flat. the kitchen lies in the north east corner in the back side of the flat having a window towards east and stove slab towards east. The flat opens in a balcony from the back side towards east and open to the Sun for morning sun rays. Please tell me whether the wall in front of main door and kitchen in the north east corner will affect the energy also tell me the possible way out to solve the problems if any.

Stairs at north going upward needs a correction. As per vastu the east and north zone should be lower. Staircase blocks the sourcing energy of east.

If possible , we suggest to make a actual change by making door clockwise. If not, use clockwise arrow on main door and master bed room door only.
Master bed room should be bigger and should be used by master of the house . It it is on ground floor, you can use the same. But make sure that upper bed room is not used childrens, servants and guest.

Selection of any premises according to Vastu should be made based on direction & not on the star. There are nine zones on the west side. Northwest, west and south west occupies 3 equal zones. You should select a auspicious zone.

West facing plot is good subject to all placement made as per vastu. Your main gate, main door, open space, internal construction, kitchen, temple, bed rooms, wash rooms , staircase, water bodies etc should be made as per vastu. You can get same benefits as plot facing east.

2. Main door is 3rd padha of south west. There is a window facing south west on 4th padha.

In front of the main door is the sitout(north west room) from which stairs are going down to the north side. The plot is facing towards north side. My house main entrance is in South that leads to a narrow foyer that goes straight and turn right in the second door in South West direction of my living room. There are windows in the foyers' south and West wall that means when one enters the house there are windows in left and opposite the main entrance. There is a wall that partially stands in between the foyer and the living room. I can't do much to do away with those windows, alternatives to keep them closed with blinds is doable to lessen the effects of bad vastu? Hello Sir, Our planned three story ed building is within 1.847 cents. Groung floor is for office. 2nd floor south east region is the kithcen and southwest store room. As per the plan a toilet,bath and dressing room comes above the kitchen in the second floor and the south west and north sides are bedrooms. In between comes a small lobby. I am afraid whether the will be any ill-effects due to the position of toilet above the kitchen? Due to space constraints it is really difficult to make any changes? I live in Kuwait and most of the apartments here are either south west facing or north west facing. I have taken a 2 BHK flat which is North west facing.
I wanted to ask you for some remedies.
1. Front door opens anti clockwise.
2. Master Bedroom is in the south west direction.

4. Kitchen is in the North west direction.
These directions i have taken while standing in the centre of the apartment.

North west door should be towards the west side of north west. Anti clock door can be corrected with Clockwise vastu arrow. Kitchen at north west is fine. Master bed room at south west placed perfectly.

Image of godess saraswasti is not suggested in this area.Keep two copper swastik pyramid above the door. Balcony is an extention and it does not make north east cut. But if you have made it as a part of your room then remedies for the north east cut has to be made. You can place mirror on north wall from inside. Make sure it does not reflect main door, toilet door or bed. Internal door does not have big issue in your case.Main door must be in auspicious location
Thanks Vastuplus.i have made balcony part of my NE room after removing the wall separating the room and balcony due to which L-SHAPED cut has been naturally created due to the structure of the building on the northern side of the extended NE wall.if i place a mirror on the extended North wall it will face SE door of NE room which is opened not to often.the mirror will reflect the image of that door if closed and if opened,the out side area. is it ok to keep mirror{of what size and at what height}on the inner side of the extended North wall.

You should not plan your house with south west door. You should consult the expert for detail planning for south facing house. There are so many precautions to be taken before starting a construction of south facing house.
Thanks sir for your advice, now i am planning to have main entrance (steel gate) towards south east corner on plot, though it will be difficult to get permission for the same. The porch/garage would be ahead of main gate and wooden gate would be next to porch. The kitchen would be in south east corner and dinning area next to kitchen. The main bedroom would be towards north east corner and second bedroom towards north west corner. There would be a backyard/open area ahead of both bedrooms. The living area/hall would be at southwest corner as this is front of house. Kindly suggest if this plan is perfect or require minor alterations.

Put a strong door protection symbols on your main door based on the direction of your door. Bedroom door facing each other is not an issue. AWash area at south east should be avoided as this is a fire corner and water element in this corner will disturb harmony in the house.

There are multiple vastu defects. Any obstcales at the door could result in to difficult life path. 1. Lift opposite the door is known as a Koop Vedh. Place vastu mangal above the door with two copper swastika on both the side
2. If possible paint tree with silver colour. Also keep few tulasi plant around the tree.
3. Fix three energy partition on the toilet door frame as same is facing the main door
4. Since you are staying at upper ground floor and overhead tank is at 5th floor, it will not have damaging defect.

Entry is from South east to the rectangular main hall, followed by a small balcony. West side wall of the hall connects to a passage in the middle of the wall towards the west. Right side of this passage is Kitchen followed by Bedroom and left side of this passage is Wash basin and toilet and bathroom. Location of door should be in the auspicious zone to be checked with exact compass direction. There are 9 divisions on each direction. It should fall in the auspicious zone. You can mail a map with direction to give you a feedback.

I am living in a small rented apartment which has the entrance door facing west and its in south-west corner of the flat. Although the door is in the west wall. just as we enter there is a small room which we use as a drawing room with sofa(at north wall) and tv (at south wall). there is only one toilet which is attched to the drwaing roon. the toilet door and main door is almost infront of each other. Are these direction ok for this rented flat.

Yes your door at south west is a problem. Put a vastu strip round your door frame. i.e. 3 strips on each side. Keep yellow pebbles near the door (inside) along with a lead metal pyramids.

but when i use my compass , standing on the centre of the house and pointing towards the main door entrance, it says south east. Is it a problem?
If it is south-east of east, then yes door is in a negative zone
then i can see that if i move my compass to 110 degrees, it shows East. In this region, it should be ok to put the door. please confirm

Lifts are ok but make sure that it does not make a missing corner for the house. Kitchen placement is ok but not best

We have the building staircase right opposite our main door which opens inside in anticlockwise manner in a 3ft passage with the wall in front, the rooms are on the left and right resp. In the east wall there is no other opening other than the main door. My queries are as follows -
1. Please suggest remedy for main door as this area remains usually very dark on the outside and the that the staircase is right opposite our house just 3feet away with flight on right (while facing east) goes down 3 steps and the one on the left goes to upper floors.
2. There are a number of visible considerably deep cracks in our house (non structural though) especially on the south wall right behind our bed (headboard side). Without doing any civil work how can this be rectified.
