Vastu shastra & Brahmasthan - Center of the house

Vastu Shastra & Brahmasthan - Center of the house

The Brahmasthan, a space central to any premises is the calmest and cosmically connected place.
According to vastu, Brahmasthan is the heart of the house, and it should always be left open and free of obstructing objects. It is also best if this portion is open to the sky so that premises have a benefit of space element according to Vastu Shastra. You can see courtyards in the center of Ancient Indian homes and Indian temple design; the original examples of Vastu Shastra forbids the actual use of the Brahmasthan. While designing the house or office, do not put pillars, staircase, toilets, kitchen or any heavy objects at the center (Brahmasthan construction). These are major Brahmasthan vastu dosha.
Even in the case of factories no heavy machinery or goods to be placed at the center of the unit. It may result in the poor production as well as pile up of the dead stock.

Precaution about Brahmasthan inVastu Shastra:-

1. There should not be a toilet or bathroom in  center of the premises. Because it invites illness to the family members.
2. Kitchen at the center of the house brings frequent illness & poor growth.
3. Staircase in the center brings a heavy burden on  head of the family- financially and mentally.
4. Pillar in the center is also a serious & major vastu defect. Pillar is having a load of structure making the center very heavy which will not allow your efforts to move in to the right direction.
5. Sleeping in the center brings sleeplessness nights.
6. Clutter in the center will mess up your life. Actually clutter anywhere in the house should be      attended immediately and should be removed immediately.
7. Research oriented  vastu remedies available for vastu defect for brahmasthan are a crystal lotus,  copper pyramid shifting arrows (virtual shifting of  defect at centre), Asthakon Pyramid and many more which need to be installed under the guidance of expert vastu  consultant.

Dear Mr. Prashanth,

You should shift the staircase towards south or west. If not utilise copper pyramid arrow on staircase for virtual shifting of staircase in desired direction

Hello Umar, Yes, you have added one pillar correctly. Even number of pillar are good for growth & harmony.
It is important that pillar should not obstruct your main door.

Respected Sir,

I have a 2 story house and the staircase is towards the middle of the house. I also think there is a beam running in the middle to support a couple of pillars. Ever since my parents moved into this house they do not have peace of mind. Can you please suggest any remedies for resolving this? We consulted with a Vastu consultant before constructing the house but nobody caught this as an issue. We would appreciate it if you can provide us with a remedy/solution.

Thanks a lot.

Vastuplus said...

Hello Umar,

This is not called a pillar as it is not supporting the structure. Best regards

Vastuplus said...

Hello,
This type of defect falls in Major defect catagory. You can do some correction like placing a copper pyramid arrow for virtual shifting of stairs towards the south. Also place a energy grid at the centre to balance the cosmic energy. Place some heavy objects at south and west.

Hi I have toilet in bramastan - pls advice on wat do do sir

Vastuplus said...

Toilet in centre of the premises is a type-1 major vastu defect. Better to shift at north west zone. If not, use copper shift arrows for virtual shifting

Unknown said...

Hello Sir,
My House is North Facing with the main door in the 4th/5th segment (if I divide the front in 9 segments).
Also The North West has car garage and north east is just front lawn. It feels like my door is right in the center of the Brahma Sthan ( If I count Garage as part of the house, because garage is 1' wider than the non garage part). Also by that calc I have a toilet in the SouthEast Side. I can email you the plan. What can I do? Also I have slope in South West corner by 2 ft.

Vastuplus said...

You are requested to mail your plan on vastuplus@gmail.com

Vastuplus said...

Please provide location of pillar i.e. direction

Raja Sahoo said...

Sir,All the 3 pillars as well as the main door faces towards East Direction.

Vastuplus said...

Ideally senior GM's desk should be in the south west zone. It is important that it should not have pillar in north east zone. Location of cabin in north or eastern zone will not give you a enought strength as a senion GM. Your supporting staff/people will be more dominating.

Hello Sir,

We have a proposed plan to build 4 flats in a plot of size 40*60 west facing plot. 2 single B/R in the ground floor and 2 double B/R in the first floor. The 40ft size is facing the main road. I would like to know if Brahmasthan rules apply for this kind of plot. The initial plan has wall in the vertical center of the plot dividing the plot into equal halves.
Please suggest. Thanks, Natans.

Businessman said...

Dear Sir,

In my factory there are pits which are in centre when factory plot is divided into 3x3 grid. These pits are under pit of machines about 10 feet deep, 10 feet wide and 50-70 feet long. Majority of two such pits come in centre grid of 3x3.

I did consulted someone and raised this issue but according to him since machines are installed over these pits, these pits are not giving any ill effects.

What are your views in this regard? Does installing heavy machinery on such pits make them un-pit? In my opinion they are basements under machine.

Regards,

SK Jain

Vastuplus said...

Reply Natanasabai Chidambaranathan

Yes brahmasthan rule will be applied here

Vastuplus said...

Reply to businessman,

A hollow portion under the machinery will be considered as a basement. Also note that heavy machinery in centre part of the factory is also a major vastu fault

I am planning a common main entrane facing north east more towards east utilizing corrider between the flats.
Can i go for these flats ?

Door should fall in the auspicious zone at east. It should be viewed by using a vastu door grid.

Navin said...

Dear Sir,

My house has two staircases; a central staircase to first floor and another one in west that leads to the basement. I want to move the central stair continuous to that of the basement that would lead to the first floor to free up some space. But that is against vastu to make stairs from basement to first floor.

Kindly advise if the central staircase is more defective than the staircase from the basement to the first floor.

Also, please suggest a remedy for the least defective one. I am sorry, but I cannot shift the staircase to any other part.

Many Thanks & Best Regards

Navin

Vastuplus said...

Staircase in brahmasthan is definately more defective, since it a main energy centre of your home. Use vastu pyramids on the staircase by fixing them with tape or adhesive on first three steps from the floor to correct disharmony created due to vastu defect

Hi sir....
Brahmsthan means of plot ...or the area only on which house is build...my plot size is 60×62 ...while constructing house I left 14 ft in east ,14 ft in north and 3ft in west...now the actual size of house is 45×46 ft ...now the brahmsthan is the middle of 45*46 or 60*62

We are buying 3 apartments on one floor with a lobby in the center to which the lifts open.(It is on 4th floor) The entire space will be used as one home, with living room/kitchen in one apartment, bedrooms in the other apartment and office/study area in 3rd apartment. The lobby is sort of hexagon shape with the 3 apartments on 3 opposite sides of the hexagon. Does the lobby correspond to the bhramasthan of the house as per vaastu? Is it like a courtyard as per the ancient Indian homes? Is this arrangement good as per vastu?

Vastuplus said...

We have a floor plan with ground floor and a basement almost of the same size as the ground floor. Everything is at the ground floor. Basement is all empty, no construction there.
I realized, that stairs to basement are in the bhramasthan. While going down in the basement, we face east. Rest of our house is luckily as per Vastu.
Please suggest if this is a major defect. And if there is any remedy for this. Thank you

Stairs in the centre (brahmasthan) is a serious vastu defect. Use pyramid shift arrow along with cork swasatika on the pillar

Pyramid shift arrow to be installed on outer wall of toilet and not on the door

Sir, is it ok to have Mandir in Brahmsthan with idols facing east? Also one of the walls has toilet (shower area) behind it.

Namaste sir,
We have wall on center point of the house. According to vastu it should be open. Is there any solution for this dosh

Tranquility zone as per Vastu is in the North east. It is best placed for worship and pray. Prayer in centre may not give positive impact. A temple sharing a wall with toilet is highly inauspcious.

Use pyramid shift arrows for virtual shifting of the wall

Sir,
I am going to construct my house.plot is 40'X36' .
As per i came to know from your website that brahmasthan should be middle grid and the 8 adjacent grid of the 81 vastu grid.Following this Size of my brahmasthan will be 170 sqft which is a quite large portion..please help me that minimum how much area i have to left for brahmasthan?

You need to plan your house in such a way that there is no load of structure in centre. You can leave the space as a lobby or a lighter weight furniture.

Dear Sir, i have an attached garage to my house which is enclosed from 3 sides. We don't need to leave the "living area" of the house to go into the garage.
Does the calculation of the Brahmasthana inlcude such a garage?

Vastuplus said...

If it is a part of construction and attached to main house, it should be included while calculating the centre

Hello Sir, I have 4 questions, please:

1. In order to calculate the Brahmasthan do we need to take into account the other small construction on the plot, which ate not attached to the house (such as the carport, store building, etc.).

2. How about the terrraces, balconies which are attached to the house?

3. When calculating tge pada fir the main doiar do we take into account the terraces and balconies?

4. The floor level of the house will be higher than the level of the plot. The Brahmasthan will be open to the sky, is it ok if the level of the Brahmasthan is a bit lower than the level of the house, but higher than tbe level of the plot? In my country there are often storms that bring a big quantity of rain, and this would be a solution to avoid the water to get into the house. Is it Vastu?

Thank you very much!

Hello Sir,
We are planning to buy a house that has nothing on bramhasthan on ground floor, it is nice but on the upper floor there is a bathroom( tub sink and toilet) in the center. Should the bramhasthan be checked for every floor or only the ground floor? Please advise. Very grateful.

Vastuplus said...

The bathroom/toilet in the centre on any floor is a serious Vastu defect. Avoid this.

There is a big mango tree in Brahmnsthan, is there any issue if I retain the tree with fruits as it is or should the tree be cut?

Vastuplus said...

This is a major Vastu defect. We do not advise cutting a tree. Place few Tulasi plants around the base of the tree. Donate some percentage of fruits from the yield instead of selling or consuming for yourself.

Can the brahmasthan of land and house be same?

Vastuplus said...

No, both should be different. Construction of house suggested as per Vastu is to have more open space towards north and east. Hence the brahmasthan of the house will be different in this case.

Brahmasthan is an energy centre of any location. It may affect the profitability of your business. Ideally, it should be filled up. For remedies, you need to send your plan to info@vastuplus.com

What's the remedy for the kitchen in the center besides relocating it? I live in a rented flat and flat owner won't allow it. Help🙏 Renee

You can create fire energy in the actual south east of your house. At the current location, the virtual shift arrow and Brahma pyramid will help you to reduce its negative impact.
