This place brings a soul near to enlightenment and allows you to make peace with the world. A pooja room

will enable you to meditate, pray to God, thus creating a holy atmosphere. Little do people know about Vastu Shastra for
pooja room, they think only the placement of idols of Gods is important. But one should understand that a wrong placement or incorrect direction can bring bad luck to the house residents.

 The first and the most important step for making a Vastu compliant pooja room is to locate the pooja room in the tranquility zone. The best direction as per Vastu Shastra for designing a pooja room is the Northeast corner of the house. But if you have space constraints for that direction, you can also design a pooja room in the East or West direction of the house.

Few other points to be considered are:

       Construct a pooja room on the ground floor;

       For factories and big plots can have a pooja room near the northwest zone of the plot.

       The auspicious direction for keeping the idols are East and/or West direction of the pooja room;

       The idols should be placed a few inches away from the walls of the pooja room;

       The idols should be in perfect condition when placed in the pooja room. A damaged image or idol should be avoided in the pooja room;

       If the pooja place has doors and windows, they should be in the north or east walls;

       If you are planning to have a marble carved prayer room, white and yellow colored marble work is considered auspicious;

       Light colors like white, light yellow or light blue color is best suitable for a pooja room;

       While making the roof, create a pyramid-shaped roof for the pooja room;

       While placing an Agnikund in the pooja room, have it in the South-east corner of the house;

       Make sure that you face east while praying.

       Place auspicious Shree yantra duly blessed in the temple for peace and prosperity in the house.

 Few other points that should be avoided are:

       Do not have the pooja room in the south direction;

       Avoid the pooja room in the storeroom of the house;

       It would be best if you do not make a pooja room in any of the bedrooms of the house;

    Avoid having the pooja room in the basement area, you can always make one on the ground floor and avoid going beyond the ground floor;

       It is not auspicious to have a pooja room under the staircase. This is a major vastu defect.

       Make sure that the idols you keep are not facing the south;

       Do not bring idols from the old temple.

    Do not place the broken idol inside the pooja room of the house;

       Ensure that the pooja room doesn’t share the walls with the bathrooms;

       Images showing war, or anger should not be placed inside the prayer area.

       Dustbin near the pooja room reduces the positivity;

       Do not place any extra storage  items in the sacred place;

       Avoid sleeping in the pooja room.

 If you believe and have faith in the Vastu Shastra, follow the points as mentioned above, Happiness and Prosperity are bound to come at your doorsteps.
