Look no further than the principles of Vastu Shastra. This ancient practice focuses on creating harmony and balance in our living spaces, and the bathroom is no exception. By incorporating simple tips and tricks, you can create a harmonious bathroom that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation.

In this article, we'll explore 10 essential tips for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu. We'll cover the basics of Vastu  bathroom design, including the importance of cleanliness and clutter-free spaces, the incorporation of natural elements, the strategic positioning of fixtures, and the use of calming colors and lighting. We'll also discuss how to use aromatherapy, minimize sharp edges and corners, and avoid negative symbols and artwork. Finally, we'll discuss how to incorporate personal touches that reflect your unique style and personality. So let's get started and create the perfect bathroom as per Vastu.

What is Vastu Shastra and how does it work?

Vastu Shastra is an ancient cosmic architectural practice that focuses on creating harmony and balance in our living spaces. It's based on the idea that the energy in our environment affects our well-being and can be manipulated to promote positive energy and good vibes. The principles of Vastu Shastra can be applied to any space, including the bathroom. By incorporating simple tips and tricks, you can create a harmonious bathroom that promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, and positive energy.

The principles of Vastu Shastra are based on the five elements: Wind, fire, earth, space, and water. Each element corresponds to a specific area of life, such as prosperity, health, or relationships. By incorporating these elements into your bathroom design, you can create a space that promotes harmony and balance. Vastu practice also emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and clutter-free spaces, as well as the strategic positioning of fixtures and the use of calming colors and lighting.

The importance of a harmonious bathroom

Our bathrooms are more than just functional spaces; they're a place where we can relax and unwind after a long day. They're also a space where we perform important rituals, such as brushing our teeth, washing our faces, and applying makeup. A harmonious bathroom can promote relaxation and rejuvenation, while an unbalanced or cluttered space can cause stress and anxiety.

Incorporating the principles of Vastu Shastra into your bathroom design can help create a space that promotes wellness and balance in your life. By creating a harmonious bathroom, you can transform your daily routine into a spa-like experience that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation.

The basics of Vastu bathroom design

Before we dive into specific tips for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu guidelines, let's review the basics of Vastu bathroom design. Here are a few key principles to keep in mind:

  • Keep the space clean and clutter-free.
  • Incorporate natural elements, such as plants, wood, or stone.
  • Use calming colors, such as blues, greens, or neutral tones.
  • Position fixtures strategically to promote good energy flow.
  • Use mirrors and lighting to enhance the space.
  • Minimize sharp edges and corners.
  • Keep the bathroom door closed.
  • Avoid negative symbols or artwork.
  • Personalize the space with touches that reflect your unique style and personality.

Now that we've covered the basics, let's dive into the 7 essential tips for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu guidance.

Tip #1: Keep it clean and clutter-free

The first and most important tip for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu system is to keep it clean and clutter-free. A cluttered space can create stagnant energy, which can lead to stress and anxiety. Start by decluttering your space and getting rid of anything that doesn't belong. Store toiletries and other items in closed cabinets or baskets to keep them out of sight.

Regular cleaning is also important to maintain a harmonious bathroom. Make sure to clean surfaces, floors, and fixtures regularly to remove any dirt or grime. A clean and clutter-free bathroom will promote positive energy and good vibes.

Tip #2: Incorporate natural elements

Incorporating natural elements is another important tip for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu Shastra. Natural elements, such as plants, wood, or stone, can promote a sense of calm and relaxation. Plants are a great way to bring nature into your bathroom and add a pop of color. Choose plants that thrive in humid environments, such as ferns, orchids, or bamboo.

Wood and stone can also add a natural element to your bathroom design. Consider adding a wooden vanity or shelving unit, or incorporating stone tiles or accents. Natural elements will promote positive energy and a sense of calm in your bathroom.

Tip #3: Choose calming colors

Choosing calming colors is another important tip for creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu system. Calming colors, such as blues, greens, or neutral tones, can promote relaxation and a sense of calm. Avoid bright, bold colors, as they can be overstimulating and create a sense of chaos.

Consider painting your bathroom walls a calming color, or incorporating calming colors through accessories, such as towels, rugs, or shower curtains. Calming colors will promote positive energy and relaxation in your bathroom.

Tip #4: Position the toilet strategically

The position of the toilet is an important consideration in bathroom design. Vastu principles dictate that the toilet should not be the first thing you see when you enter the bathroom, as this can create a sense of negative energy. If possible, position the toilet out of sight from the bathroom door.

Avoid placing the toilet directly opposite the bathroom door or in line with the door, as this can create negative energy flow. If you can't avoid these positions, consider using a screen or partition to block the view of the toilet.

Tip #5: Use aroma

Aromatherapy is another important element in creating a harmonious bathroom with Vastu. Essential oils can promote relaxation, calmness, and positive energy. Lavender, chamomile, and eucalyptus are all great options for promoting relaxation and reducing stress.

Add a few drops of essential oil to your bathwater, or use a diffuser to spread the scent throughout your bathroom. You can also incorporate scented candles or incense into your bathroom design.

Tip #6: Keep the bathroom door closed

Keeping the bathroom door closed is another important tip for creating a harmonious bathroom. When the bathroom door is open, the energy in the space can escape and create a negative energy flow. Keep the bathroom door closed when not in use to maintain positive energy flow in your bathroom.

Tip #7: Avoid negative symbols and artwork

Negative symbols and artwork can create negative energy in your bathroom. Avoid artwork or decor that depicts negative or violent themes, as well as any items that have negative associations. Choose artwork and decor that promotes positive energy and good vibes.

Conclusion: How to implement these tips into your own bathroom design

Incorporating the principles of Vastu Shastra into your bathroom design can help create a harmonious space that promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, and positive energy. By keeping your space clean and clutter-free, incorporating natural elements, choosing calming colors, strategically positioning fixtures, and using mirrors and lighting, you can create a spa-like atmosphere in your own bathroom. Remember to use aromatherapy, minimize sharp edges and corners, keep the bathroom door closed, avoid negative symbols, and incorporate personal touches that reflect your unique style and personality. With these 7 essential tips, you can create the perfect Vastu-compliant bathroom in your own home.

Spiritual Corner of Your House - Prayer area

 Spiritual Corner of your house - Prayer area

Wisdom from the Banks of Mother Ganga by - H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji

"I always say, 'If you never want to be cornered in your life, have a spiritual corner in your heart and in your home.'

We spend so much time and energy designing and decorating our rooms and offices. We have beautiful bookcases for our books and photographs. We have spacious closets for our clothes. If our body is tired we can get into bed or take a hot bath. But, where is the place for our hearts, our minds, and our emotions? Where is the place where we can go to be replenished and rejuvenated?

That place should be the spiritual corner.  If we live in a large, spacious home we might be able to dedicate a full room as the 'prayer room' 'meditation room' or 'breathing room.'  However, it doesn’t matter if we don’t have that much space. The quantity of space is not what is relevant; only the quality is.

The spiritual corner should be a place filled with any and all objects that bring peace to your mind and heart. If you worship God in any particular form, you can have images of that form. If you do not worship God in form, then you can put things there that connects you to God spiritually, such as flowers or candles.

The spiritual corner should be kept only for spiritual practice – for meditation, Japa, puja, introspection, relaxation, breathing, silence, etc. Over time, you will see that the vibrational energy there will come to be different from the rest of the house. The place will be 'charged.' As soon as you enter the room or sit in that corner, your entire nervous system will undergo not only emotional and psychological changes but physiological changes as well. The energy will be calm, serene, and tender."

Plants to Increase Wealth and Prosperity at Home & Office

One way to create a healthier environment in your home is to use plants. There are many plants that can help reduce the levels of CO2 in your home. Placing certain plants in your home or office can increase wealth and prosperity.

Also, they can improve your focus, reduce anxiety, and lift your mood.

There is evidence that certain plants emit positive ions into the air, which can positively affect mood and promote feelings of contentment. Additionally, these plants can help improve your financial situation by increasing your luck and attracting wealth and abundance into your life.

Productivity in office
While working in an office with a view of a lush green garden or a home with a variety of colorful blooming flowers will make you more productive, working in an office with a view of a bleak grey concrete wall will make you less productive.

What you view everyday matters. It impacts your thoughts, emotions, and ultimately your actions.

Plants and Vastu

One of the best ways to get the most out of Vastu Shastra is to add plants to your home or office. They’re not just beautiful — they also have the power to clean the air and boost your abundance.
It’s based on the idea that everything in the universe — like the placement of planets or the flow of energy — has a vibrational pattern, and these flows of energy can be manipulated to a beneficial end.

Benefits of plants

  • Planting in your home or office can help with energy, wellness, and productivity.
  • From improving air quality to lowering your energy bills, indoor plants have a ton of benefits that make them a must-have in any home. They also happen to make great decor!
  • Indoor plants are great for improving air quality in your home because they naturally filter out pollutants like formaldehyde, xylene, toluene, and ammonia, which are common in many household products like cleaning products, paints, and fabrics.
Fern Plant

They are also wonderful for purifying the air in your home and are especially helpful if you have health issues. To grow ferns, you can choose from a variety of species that are suited to your climate. For example, if you live in a warm climate, you can grow tropical ferns. In a cooler climate, you can grow Alpine or Woodland ferns. Wherever you live, the soil you choose to grow your ferns in is important.

Placing a Boston fern in your entryway or workspace is a good idea. It is considered a welcoming plant.

Because it is a superb natural air cleaner, this lush species is a true good-energy plant for every space!

Bamboo plant

Bamboo is associated with wealth and prosperity.

If you have an indoor bamboo plant, try to find a place near where you usually sit or spend most of your time. It is believed that the energy emitted by a plant affects the person that spends most of their time in its vicinity.

You can position a bamboo plant in the southeast corner of your house or office as it is a potent symbol of wealth and abundance. It can also be used to enhance romance and stimulate creativity.

In order to make the most of this Vastu tip, you need to place the bamboo plant in water. You can use a decorative vase or bowl for this purpose. The water must be changed regularly to keep the plant healthy.

Bamboo plants are also very beneficial if you have a desk job as they improve air quality. And, most importantly, they look very aesthetically pleasing.

Jade Plant

Jade plants are known to bring good fortune, wealth, and prosperity to the home.

They are also said to bring good health to your family, especially prosperity for your children. They can be placed anywhere, such as on a desk, in the living room or family room, or even in your garden.

Jade plants are known to help with concentration, improve blood flow, and reduce anxiety.

Lavender Plant

Lavender is beautiful, aromatic, and has many health benefits. It is a fragrant herb that is commonly used in natural remedies. Many people grow lavender as a houseplant, and it is commonly used to repel mosquitoes and other insects. When grown indoors, lavender plants offer plenty of benefits for your health. They improve air quality, reduce stress, and have many other health benefits.

Lavender plants also look beautiful and can be used to decorate your home or office. It can be placed in the living room, kitchen window, or family area in the house. Keep the lavender plant at the reception, conference room, or CEO cabin in office locations.

Areca Palm

The Vastu benefits of this palm tree is great for wealth and success. It has a wide trunk that symbolizes wealth and power, and the open, welcoming nature of its fronds represents the welcoming of wealth. This palm tree is also a great feng shui cure for readers, writers, and anyone who works in the creative profession.

The open fronds of this palm tree also welcome new ideas and thoughts. This palm tree is also great for the health and wealth of anyone who enjoys nice outdoor spaces or gardens.

If you want to make sure that your home or office is filled with positive energy, you can’t go wrong with areca or any normal palms.

How to Program Your Space for Abundance and Happiness as per Vastu

 How to Program Your Space for Abundance and Happiness as per Vastu

It’s no secret that life is hard these days. It seems like just about everything has become more expensive and more difficult to obtain. In order to protect ourselves from the rampant consumerism, commercialism, and materialism that are all around us, we’ve retreated into our homes and created little “blue bubbles” where we can disconnect from it all. And in doing so, we inadvertently created an entirely new niche industry: the home automation system.

In ancient culture, it is believed that every dwelling should follow Vastu principles, an art of creating harmony in the home. Abundant blessings are believed to flow into a space when it is designed in accordance with the five elements of Vastu shastra i.e. water, fire, earth, wind and space

In a world where most of us feel as though we are under constant attack from various forces that wish to suck our happiness out of us, why should we be happy? After all, isn’t there enough hardship in the world as is? Programming our space for abundance and happiness actually requires very little effort on our part. However, if you don’t take action now, it will only get harder as time goes by and your circumstances continue to deteriorate around you.

So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!

Plants

If you’ve ever wondered why certain flowers seem to bring joy and prosperity into your home, then you’ll love this! The answer lies in their patterns of movement and their ability to attract natural energy. Plants have been used for centuries in homes as a way of bringing the spirit of the season into the dwelling.

Plants in your home help to balance the energies of the space, reduce negative energy, and even attract good vibes from the outside. If you're wondering what plants can do for your home, here are some benefits:

Plants have been used as a part of human life for thousands of years. They are an important part of our ecosystem and are also useful for productivity related to health and stress.  They also increase concentration, improve productivity, and reduce feelings of stress. In the home, plants can be used to reduce stress and improve productivity.

Some beneficial plants

-Spider Plants: Spider plants are a great choice because they grow easily and quickly, and they help to reduce stress by reducing feelings of loneliness.

- Snake Plants: Snake plants are another great choice for reducing stress because they are easy to care for and they can grow almost anywhere.

- Jade Plants: Jade plants are another great choice for reducing stress because they are easy to grow and they are a great addition to almost any home.

- Peace Lily: The peace lily is another great choice for reducing stress because it is very easy to grow and it does not need much attention.

Colors

Everyone understands the beauty of nature. It has been a part of us from our childhood. We have seen it growing up, played with it and for most of our adult life we have been in contact with it.

Colors are a powerful force that can either have a positive or negative effect on us depending on their frequency, intensity, and how well they are aligned on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. If you want to create more joy in your life then you need to put some thought into how you decorate your home because color plays a major role in affecting your emotions positively or negatively.

Vastu suggested  Colors are  a combination of the elements of your home. It is the exact color that will be beneficial for your health and well-being. This is what differentiates a successful Vastu practitioner from others, they know the exact effect of each color on the body and mind of the person. The best part is that you can do this yourself at home.

If you want to promote a lot of happiness and joy in your life then you must have a color that is very popular in Vastu as it is called yellow. Yellow is one of the most powerful and needed color that you can use to increase the flow of money, prosperity, and good luck.

Another colour, Blue is the most gentle and soothing color that is highly beneficial for the mind. It is an excellent color to create a calm and harmonious ambience in your house.

Space & light

There have been a growing number of studies that have been conducted to see what affects people’s happiness levels and how we can consciously program our spaces for abundance and happiness. It turns out that the more open space you have in your home, the happier you will be. Because of this, you should invest in having more open spaces in your home.

The greener your space in your home, the more likely you are to be happier in your space. With that in mind, you should also make sure that you have more natural light in your home and less artificial light. Natural light has been shown to have a number of health benefits, including the reduction of depression and the improvement of sleep quality. And since depression and sleep problems are both associated with increased levels of stress, it makes sense that they would be reduced when you have more natural light in your home.

So, if you want to make your home more beautiful and more energetic then you must have a look at the combination of colors, plants, lights, etc and you will definitely be amazed.

Steps To Make a Vastu Friendly Pooja Room

Steps To Make a Vastu Friendly Prayer Room

The most sacred and auspicious area of the house is a prayer or pooja room. The place where idols of Gods are placed, religious texts are stored, and where all the Godly belongings are located. One may ask, why separate room for Gods when they reside spiritually everywhere? The simplest and the most immediate answer to this question is, by creating a pooja room, we are creating a space for positivity, an aura that will revitalize the environment, mind, body, and soul.

This place brings a soul near to enlightenment and allows you to make peace with the world. A pooja room

will enable you to meditate, pray to God, thus creating a holy atmosphere. Little do people know about Vastu Shastra for
pooja room, they think only the placement of idols of Gods is important. But one should understand that a wrong placement or incorrect direction can bring bad luck to the house residents.

 So how do you create a place completely filled with positive vibrations and which will only work for the progress, prosperity, and peace of the people living inside? For detailed information, you can always contact an expert. Some of the rules regarding the Do’s and Don’ts are listed here. Keep reading further.

 The first and the most important step for making a Vastu compliant pooja room is to locate the pooja room in the tranquility zone. The best direction as per Vastu Shastra for designing a pooja room is the Northeast corner of the house. But if you have space constraints for that direction, you can also design a pooja room in the East or West direction of the house.

Few other points to be considered are:

       Construct a pooja room on the ground floor;

       For factories and big plots can have a pooja room near the northwest zone of the plot.

       The auspicious direction for keeping the idols are East and/or West direction of the pooja room;

       The idols should be placed a few inches away from the walls of the pooja room;

       The idols should be in perfect condition when placed in the pooja room. A damaged image or idol should be avoided in the pooja room;

       If the pooja place has doors and windows, they should be in the north or east walls;

       If you are planning to have a marble carved prayer room, white and yellow colored marble work is considered auspicious;

       Light colors like white, light yellow or light blue color is best suitable for a pooja room;

       While making the roof, create a pyramid-shaped roof for the pooja room;

       While placing an Agnikund in the pooja room, have it in the South-east corner of the house;

       Make sure that you face east while praying.

       Place auspicious Shree yantra duly blessed in the temple for peace and prosperity in the house.

Shree Yantra

 Few other points that should be avoided are:

       Do not have the pooja room in the south direction;

       Avoid the pooja room in the storeroom of the house;

       It would be best if you do not make a pooja room in any of the bedrooms of the house;

    Avoid having the pooja room in the basement area, you can always make one on the ground floor and avoid going beyond the ground floor;

       It is not auspicious to have a pooja room under the staircase. This is a major vastu defect.

       Make sure that the idols you keep are not facing the south;

       Do not bring idols from the old temple.

    Do not place the broken idol inside the pooja room of the house;

       Ensure that the pooja room doesn’t share the walls with the bathrooms;

       Images showing war, or anger should not be placed inside the prayer area.

       Dustbin near the pooja room reduces the positivity;

       Do not place any extra storage  items in the sacred place;

       Avoid sleeping in the pooja room.

 If you believe and have faith in the Vastu Shastra, follow the points as mentioned above, Happiness and Prosperity are bound to come at your doorsteps.
